My work

resin

You're probably already wondering what actually is synthetic resin?

Synthetic resins are synthetic resins (polymers) that are produced by polymerisation, polyaddition or polycondensation processes. They can be modified by natural substances such as vegetable oils or natural resins.

What is the nature of the material?

Don't worry - even if some of the products look like glass, the material cannot be compared to it. Synthetic resin is a type of plastic and therefore very robust. As a rule, you don't have to be afraid if you drop your resin key fob, for example, because the material is very unbreakable and stable, but not very flexible. However, scratches, cuts or the like can remain on the surface of your unique epoxy resin, but these are just normal signs of wear.

air bubbles:

Air bubbles in synthetic resin can occur during the mixing process of resin and hardener. Due to the mandatory stirring of both components, air is unavoidably mixed in, which becomes visible in the form of small air bubbles. Even if you can eliminate them again, which I pay great attention to, it can happen that there are air bubbles in your finished unique piece. The material works and develops individually and randomly during the entire drying process, so that even after my last checking look before the drying phase begins, air bubbles can form. These can not only be on the inside, but also open to the outside on the surface and edges. They typically don't deface or render the one-of-a-kind piece unusable - if you're buying a one-of-a-kind handmade resin piece, you have to deal with the potential for air bubbles to accompany it. Air bubbles in your unique piece are therefore no reason for complaint. Imperfectly perfect - but that's why it's lovingly handcrafted.

Surface & bumps:

The surface of the unique pieces made of synthetic resin is, at best, mirror-smooth and shiny. In order for this to be the case, I pour all the products in several layers, because incorporated details, such as the flowers or the gold leaf, float to the surface due to their light weight and thus protrude. As a balance and for a perfect surface, another clear top coat layer is applied to your unique piece to even out the small bumps. However, it can happen, albeit rarely, that not all bumps are included & these can then be found and felt accordingly on the surface. Of course, I try my best to ensure that this does not happen & your unique piece is as perfect as possible.
However, since it would be a shame and wasteful to throw away your unique piece, which you have individually assembled and cast by me, with a minimally imperfect surface, you will still receive it if the imperfections are bearable. If I classify this irregularity as "bad", I will of course make you a new unique piece without you noticing anything, except that the delivery time may be slightly longer. Unevenness does not constitute a reason for complaint.
